Dr. Candace Hamilton, 8th grade science teacher, was honored last month when her Paper Airplane Inquiry Lab was awarded to be an Exemplar from the EQuIP Peer Review Panel. The Panel stated, "The unit is interesting and engaging. It provides a short, complex text worth reading multiple times and a longer extended text sufficiently complex to meet the needs of the grade level. "
This was a rewarding, but arduous eight month process which involved multiple revisions and extensive communication between the EQuIP Review Panel and Dr. Hamilton. Her Exemplar lesson will be posted on the EQuIP section of Achieve's website along with the quality review feedback from the EQuIP Peer Review Panel. It will also be shared with Achieve's partners in order to increase awareness and access to exemplary materials. Dr. Hamilton feels extremely honored to help EQuiP achieve its goal of making high-quality and CCSS-aligned instructional materials available to educators across the country. We are honored to have Dr. Hamilton as our 8th grade science teacher!
