Civics: Mrs. Allison's Class

Mrs. Allison's class made cards and wrote letters to Mrs. Allison's cousin who is a Captain in the United States Air Force serving overseas.  Not only did he write back to the students and answer their questions, he also sent them the United States flag that he flew in their honor!  He wrote to the students, "This is a reminder that what I do is not about myself, but about our great country and its great people.  Thank you so much for the cards and letters.  I really enjoyed reading all of your kind and inspiring words and I loved all of the drawings.  Knowing that our country is filled with great kids like you makes all of the difficult parts of my job worth doing."  The flag now hangs proudly in Mrs. Allison's classroom.
