Growth Mindset and Challenges

In sixth grade Literature our students spent time this week working with the idea of Growth Mindset and challenges. One of those challenges included working together with others in order to build a tower of cups, without using our hands.  Here are a few photos of our struggles and accomplishments.

We have the best grounds and custodial crew!  Our facilities are always beautiful and well maintained.  Our grounds and custodial crew cares about our students and their families.

Code.org Curriculum

This year, seventh and eighth grade students are using the code.org curriculum in our computer science classes.  This week the students are "unplugged" as they work on problem solving and teamwork.  The students are working on the aluminum boat challenge.

7th Grade Night

The 7th Grade Night was a successful evening of team building and collaboration.  We love spending time with our students outside of the classroom learning more about them.  We will be working hard to help them develop as leaders and thinkers.  Thank you to the Parent Teacher Club for sponsoring this fantastic event.

Whiteside Art Gallery Wall

Congratulations to the talented Whiteside artists whose artwork was selected at the end of the 2017-2018 school year to be framed and hung on the Whiteside Art Gallery Wall.  Please stop by and see their wonderful work.  Congratulations to Kiersten, Alesia, Madeline, and Breeanna.

Photos From 6th Grade Night

We had 85 6th graders and 10 National Junior Honor Society members at our 6th Grade Welcome Night.  It was a fun night of team building and positive communication.  The 6th graders will be building each other up this year.  We are grateful to our Parent Teacher Club for once again sponsoring this action packed event.  6th Grade is off to a fantastic start.  Just look at all those smiling faces!  #ILBacktoSchool  #WhitesidePride

Ice Cream Social

It is always a good Friday night when you can spend it with Whiteside Families!  We had a blast meeting and talking with our families at the Whiteside Parent Teacher Club Ice Cream Social.  I am already looking forward to the next community building event.  #ILBacktoschool  #WhitesidePride

Whiteside School District Parent Teacher Club

Thanks to our Parent Teacher Club for supporting our students, faculty, and staff.  We all loved the "Welcome Back" treat on our first day of school.

First Day of School
