Family Math and Science Night

One of the BEST evenings at Whiteside Middle School is the Family Math and Science Night.  We love it when our Whiteside Families get together to work on math and science problems.  This year did not disappoint!  We had basketball catapult, STEM it to win it, engineering design escape room, and wiggle bots.  Thanks to Dr. Candace Hamilton and Amber Phillips for organizing another great family event!

Speakers at D.A.R.E Graduation

We are so proud of our student speakers who represented their peers at the D.A.R.E graduation.  They did an outstanding job!  Their words were heartfelt and thought provoking.  We appreciate their influence and leadership.

D.A.R.E Graduation

We are very proud of our 6th graders and their graduation from the D.A.R. E program.  This program teaches our students about peer pressure, healthy choices, and drug and alcohol abuse.  These are important topics and we will help our students to implement this knowledge in their daily lives.

Student Council: Morningside Visit

Our Student Council members visited the residents at Morningside of Shiloh.  They played games with the residents and enjoyed preparing snacks for them.  The residents loved our student musicians!  We continue to teach and model service to our students.  Thanks to the Student Council and Tracy Mentzer for spreading Whiteside cheer!

Hour of Code: Curriculum and Instruction

We participated in the International Hour of Code with  We held a special evening event with our families and worked on the curriculum during our computer specials.  The good news is that we do not just do this one time a year!  This is embedded in our computer curriculum and our students learn coding throughout the school year.
