In-Person Daily Schedule

 

This is our daily schedule  for in-person instruction.

 

8:00 am – 8:30 am:  Students can arrive at school.  Students will go directly to their first hour class.

 

8:30 am – 9:00 am:  1st Hour and 5^th Grade  Specials

 

9:00 am – 9:30 am:  2nd Hour

 

9:30 am – 10:00 am:  3rd Hour and 7^th Grade Specials

 

10:00 am – 10:30 am:  4th Hour, 7^th Grade Lunch, and 8^th Grade Specials

 

10:30 am -11:00 am:  Fifth Hour, 8^th Grade Lunch, and 6^th Grade Specials

 

11:00 am – 11:30 am:  6^th Hour, 6^th Grade Lunch

 

11:30 am – 12:00 pm  7^th Hour, 5^th Grade Lunch

 

12:00 – 12:30 pm:  8^th Hour

 

12:30:  Dismissal

Return to Learn Plan

Hello, Whiteside Families.

Please read the Return to Learn Plan that was emailed to all of you through Skyward.  The plan is full of many important details for the start of school. 

I want to point out three important parts of the plan:

Our school day for in person instruction will be very different this year.  Our school day will start at 8:00 am and end at 12:30 pm.  Students will not be able to enter our building until 8:00 am and they will go directly to their first hour class.

Students, administrators, faculty, and staff will be required to wear face masks while they are in the building.

We will have a remote/virtual option for our families to choose in place of the in person instruction.

New Student Registration: July 21, 2020

Welcome to our new Whiteside Families!  Our third day for new student registration will take place on Tuesday, July 21 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm.  I am looking forward to all the growth we will make together this year.  If you ever need anything, please reach out to me.

Illinois Principals Association Award: Niyah

Niyah works hard to build an inclusive school community.  She started a Kindness Club that was an instant success!  She has left positive notes for our 5th graders and personal letters of encouragement for students in 6th and 7th grade.  Niyah is a state representative with Be Strong, a global organization that educates students about resiliency and anti-bullying practices.  I am proud to announce that Niyah has been selected to receive the Illinois Principals Association Award.

Illinois Principals Association Award: Emma

Emma is an outstanding student leader.  She has selflessly organized so many service projects for our school during her four years at Whiteside Middle School.  She makes sure that everyone feels included and respected.  She leads by example with her hard work and determination.  I am proud to announce that Emma has been awarded the Illinois Principals Association Award.  Congratulations, Emma! 

New Student Registration

I would like to welcome all of our new families to the Whiteside School District.  You have my 100% guarantee that I will always work hard in order for your children to learn and grow.  Our first day for new student registration will be on Tuesday, July 14 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm.

Illinois Principals Association Award: Allison

I am proud to announce that Allison is a recipient of the Illinois Principals Association Award.  Since 5th grade, Allison has been involved in numerous service projects through Joshua's Great Things, Student Council, G.O.Team, and the National Junior Honor Society.  Allison has been a wonderful ambassador for our school.

I want to remind all of you that you can complete your returning student registration online.  Logon to your Skyward account and go to Family Access.  Click online registration and complete the twelve steps.  Yes, it is that easy!  If you need assistance, please let me know.
