Romero Britto and 5th Grade Art
5th grade students in Mrs. Schleipman-Burke's art class learned about Brazilian painter and sculptor Romero Britto. He combines elements of cubism and pop art and uses bold patterns as an expression of hope. Our students created bold patterns in their lovely heart pieces.

Sgt. Graham and the D.A.R.E. Program
Thank you to Sgt. Graham from the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department for teaching our 6th graders in the D.A.R.E. program. Sgt. Graham was teaching our students about the negative health effects of tobacco use.

7th Grade Student of the Month: Dai Ja
Dai Ja has been a model student all year. She is first on the Meet and last to leave. She has her camera on and participates regularly in class. 7th Grade Science: DNA in the Lab
7th grade students extracted DNA from banana cells as part of their DNA/Hereditary unit. Soap was used to break down the banana cells and rubbing alcohol completed the extraction by causing the DNA to precipitate in the solution.
