Meyer's Service Project

 Meyer has been working hard all summer on his mitvah/service project in preparation for his Bar Mitvah in October.  He has been collecting school supplies for financially struggling families in the Whiteside School District.  Meyer delivered the school supplies this week to Whiteside Middle School.  He collected school supplies worth $1,300.00!  He delivered over 175 needed items such as trapper keepers, earbuds, glue sticks, notecards, mechanical pencils, and so much more!  Thank you, Meyer, for making our school community a better place.

6th Grade Student of the Month: Dean

 Students in Mrs. Dumey's class participated in the CharacterPlus team building/responsibility lesson.  Students had fun, learned to use encouraging words, works as a team, and be responsible for their part of a project.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

 5th grade students in Mrs. Schleipman-Burke's art classes celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by learning about Vejigante masks, which are made in Puerto Rico.  Assistant Principal, Jaime Cotto, who is of Puerto Rican descent, described to the students the importance of the mask.
