8th Grade Sneakers: Science and Art #ILScienceWeek

Students applied  what they learned in the lab and made an advertising brochure for the best sneaker they would wear for their favorite activity. They drew a diagram that showed the frictional forces acting on the shoe for each type of motion that they measured in the Sticky Sneaker Lab the previous day. In the brochure, they explained why the shoe would be ideal for their  favorite activity using scientific evidence from 5 different sources. Use the given template, but replace the information with information and pictures relating to the best shoe for your chosen favorite activity. We displayed the brochures  at the Health and Fitness Fair  We had over 65 brochures!  In addition, our students drew the designs of their sneakers in art class.  Thanks to Dr. Candace Hamilton and Mrs. Sue Schleipman-Burke for creating and leading this important project!
