7th Grade Science Lab: Biomolecules

 7th grade students in Mrs. Phillips' classes were testing food for biomolecules.  The students were studying the importance of how the foods you eat fuel your cells and help you maintain homeostasis.

Graphing Designs in Mrs. Burton's Class

 Students in Mrs. Burton's class made graphing designs with the help of Mrs. Remijan from the Illinois Math and Science Academy.

7th Grade Student of the Month: Shelly

 Congratulations to Shelly for being named our 7th Grade Student of the Month.  Shelly is a positive addition to every classroom.  She is a hard worker and comes to each class period with a positive attitude. Illinois School Bus Appreciation Day

 Our students served a delicious breakfast to our bus drivers and monitors on Illinois School bus Appreciation Day.  We are grateful for our bus drivers and monitors.

 Our 7th Grade Student of the Month is a quiet leader in the classroom.  She is always on task and respectful to her teachers and classmates.  She works hard on her assignments and always does her best.  Congratulations to Gianna for being named our 7th Grade Student of the Month.

 Congratulations to Mrs. Stacey Geluck for being honored with the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award.  Stacey Gluck is a leader in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.  The Illinois State Board of Education relies on Stacey Gluck's assessment expertise.

8th Grade Student of the Month: Ryan

 Ryan is our 8th Grade Student of the Month.  Ryan is not only a great student, but also a great friend.  He works hard at everything he does and strives to do his best.  He is always very friendly and personable.  Ryan enjoys helping his classmates.  Congratulations to Ryan!

7th Grade Team Meeting

 Our 7th grade team met to analyze the data from the fall AIMSweb assessment.  The data is used to inform our classroom instruction.  We compare our students to other students nationally.

Chestnut Health Services

 Thank you to Mr. Muertz from Chestnut Health Services for educating our 6th graders about healthy relationships, positive peer pressure, how to resolve conflicts, and the dangers of alcohol and drug use.  We are grateful to Chestnut Health Services for their partnership with us.

 Social Worker, Ms, Gain, presented to all the 8th grade classes.  Students learned about the value of positive self-talk.  Students identified examples of both positive and negative self-talk.
