5th Grade Open House

Hello, 5^th Grade Families and welcome to Whiteside Middle School!

  I am excited to get this school year started, but even more importantly, I am looking forward to meeting all of you.  It is my guarantee to you that in four years, we will develop a meaningful relationship and we will celebrate when our students walk across the graduation stage in 2026.  

One of the first steps in this educational journey is open house.  Our open house for 5^th grade will be on August 17^th from 5:45 until 7:00 pm.  I will start the open house with a brief presentation in the multi-purpose room and then families will be able to meet their teachers and tour the building.

I look forward to seeing all of you on August 17^th.

New Student Orientation: 6-8 Grade

 Hello, Whiteside Families.

I want to welcome all of our new students and their families to our District.

I know that it can be challenging to be a new student in a middle school, but I want to let you know that we are all here to welcome you to our great school.  

I would like to invite our new 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th graders for new student orientation on August 12^th.  I will start the orientation off with a brief presentation and then students will get their schedules and have building level tours with our National Junior Honor Society members.

This is the grade level schedule we will follow:

9:00 am to 10:00 am:  6^th grade orientation (presentation will start at 9:00 am).

10:00 am to 11:00 am:  7^th grade orientation (presentation will start at 10:00 am).

11:00 am to 12:00 pm:  8^th grade orientation (presentation will start at 11:00 am).

Cross Country News: It's not too Late to join

 It is not too late to join our cross country team!  Practice will be every day this week from 8:30 am until 9:30 am (there will not be practice on Friday, August 6).  If you have questions about cross country, you can contact our dedicated coach, Mrs. Amy Mannino at amy.mannino@wssd115.org.
